We offer three product tiers: ready-to-ship catalog controls, specials, and fully custom-engineered controls. Specials are slightly modified versions of our existing catalog products. A fully custom design is a design built from the ground up; it can be based on Control Resources technology but is completely tailored to your unique application.
Control Resources
Our Offerings
We build fully custom solutions as well as standard, ready-to-ship catalog products that can be deployed as-is or modified to fit your exact specifications. Every control we build is engineered and manufactured under one roof, right here in the USA. Browse our technical categories below to find the right fit for your next project.
Design to Build
Want electrical engineering experts to help design your control? We manufacture custom power electronics under one roof, typically completing projects in 8–10 weeks.
Catalog Fan Speed Solutions
Variable speed. Configurable control options. Built for the way your application runs.
Catalog Motor Speed Solutions
We handle motor speed control. Find BLDC, EC, brushed DC, PSC motor drives, and pumps here.
Catalog Device Cooling Solutions
Device cooling solutions engineered for the performance and reliability you require.
LabStrobe Stroboscopes

Custom Electronic Control Solutions
Why Choose Control Resources?
An Engineering Partner, Not Just a Vendor
We get into the technical weeds alongside your team, help define the specs, build the prototype, and see the program through production. That’s how we’ve operated for over 40 years.
400+ Custom Designs Delivered
Four decades and more than 400 custom designs across HVAC, medical, telecom, defense, and motor control give us a deep bench when your application gets complex.
We Only Build What We Design
Design and manufacturing live under one roof, which means we’re accountable for both. Our typical design schedule runs 8 to 10 weeks, with production lead times of 5 to 6 weeks, both made possible by lean overhead and 90 to 95% shared stock components across designs.
Every Unit Made in USA
All design and manufacturing happens at our Massachusetts facility. Domestic production means quality control, shorter lead times, and a partner you can count on.
Competitive Development Fees
Our success is tied to your program’s success because our business model relies on making money from continued programs instead of design hours. Our design fees actually only represent less than 3% of our revenue.
Direct Access to Our Engineers
When something comes up, you can reach the engineers who built your boards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers About Custom Electronic Control Systems
Are your products made in the USA?
Every control we design and manufacture comes out of our facility in Acton, Massachusetts. Domestic manufacturing is how we’ve operated since 1984. That means tighter quality control, faster response to design changes, and a production team you can actually reach.
What industries do your products serve?
Our controls are used across HVAC, medical devices, telecom, data centers, military defense electronics, pumps, and motor control applications, among others. If your product moves air, manages heat, or drives a motor, there’s a good chance we’ve engineered a solution for something close to it.
How do I know if a catalog product will work for my application?
Our catalog controls are built with real engineering depth, not broad-compatibility compromises. Each product page includes specs to help you self-qualify. If something doesn’t quite fit, our engineering team is available to talk through your requirements and determine whether a catalog product or custom solution makes more sense.
What makes Control Resources different from other control manufacturers?
We design and build under one roof, which means no handoffs, no split accountability, and no surprises when the product reaches production. With 400-plus custom designs over 40 years and a 99.9% final pass yield rate in 2025, our track record backs it up.
