SmartFan® Omni SD Fan Speed Control and Alarm
|
Operation / Installation PDF |
The Omni SD Fan controller holds a selected chassis temperature near constant (+0°C, -4°C) by controlling the voltage (speed) of an air mover. Under normal thermal conditions, fans run at a reduced speed, keeping fan noise to a minimum and reducing air filter changes. Under less than optimal thermal conditions, fans adjust to hold the chassis temperatures near constant until maximum fan speed is attained.
The Omni SD features smooth DC voltage and high frequency resulting in maximum power efficiency, minimum size and low motor noise. Each unit can control any number of 2 or 3 wire 12, 24 or 48 VDC air movers with a combined current rating up to 5 Amps. The Omni SD also features a temperature alarm connection that is triggered if the sensed temperature reaches 10°C over the selected control temperature or if power to the controller is lost.
The Omni SD can be customized for many applications including conformal coating, custom temperature sensor termination, special idle speeds, control temperatures, alarm trigger temperatures and control slopes. Contact Control Resources customer service to ask about modifying the Omni SD for your application or for designing custom products from the ground up to meet your specification.
