SmartFan Nimbus AC motor speed control is designed to control AC motors, pumps, and fans in HVAC, electronics, and industrial control applications. Nimbus provides AC motor speed control for single-phase AC motors approved for voltage control in applications including; humidity control, clean room pressurization, equipment cooling, exhaust ventilators, duct fans & blowers. Nimbus accepts 115 or 230 VAC power sources and provides AC motor speed control from a control signal (0-20 mA, 0-10 VDC), remote transducer, or up to three remote temperature sensors.
Automatic voltage and frequency detection, current ratings up to 7.5 Amps and three mounting and connection configurations make this AC motor speed control extremely flexible and economical. Benefits of using SmartFan Nimbus for AC motor speed control include acoustical noise reduction, environmental (humidity, temperature, or pressure) regulation, greater product reliability, improved safety, and energy savings.

CAUTION – SmartFan Nimbus is designed for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and is not intended for end-user or after-market applications. The Nimbus should only be used with compatible induction motors (Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) or Shaded Pole) that are approved by the motor manufacturer for TRIAC (voltage) control. Attempting to control a fan or motor that is not compatible could cause excessive heating and/or permanent damage to the motor.
Control Comparison & Motor Efficiency – See the technical article on how the Nimbus AC motor speed control compares to other controller technologies.
